How to eat carbs and still get lean and ripped!

So, you want to get lean but don’t fancy going down the NO carb or very low carb route!

You ask yourself is there such a way to get lean and, if so, how can I speed up the process?

Good news! The answer is a resounding YES you can, and below I’m going to give you 4 ways to help you get super lean by just tweaking a few things with your lifestyle.

Enjoy 🙂

To become lean/super lean it really comes down to optimal insulin sensitivity. However, if you are insulin resistant, much of the protein and everything else you eat gets delivered to your fat storage rather than your muscle storage and it sits happily around your mid-section with not a care in the world!

You may think the best thing to do then to get rid of the fat on your body is go LOW carb or worse still NO carbs! But let me tell you straight, that does not fix the problem. What is more, a crazy low-carb diet leaves your muscle-building capabilities in tatters. What you really need to do instead is optimise your insulin sensitivity.

4 key ways to help your body become more insulin sensitive:

1. At the start of a meal, eat some protein and fat before you touch any carbs. Doing this will really reduce your blood sugar levels, because at the end we want to keep these levels as stable as possible. Wild increases in blood sugar is never a good idea.

2. Use fish oil like it’s going out of business. Fish oil to me is a true superfood. It really keeps blood sugars low, helps with cholesterol and inflammation of the body and so

much more. Ideally, aim to take 2-3 grams of quality fish oil per day, minimum.

3. Use vinegar as a salad dressing or do what I do and purchase some apple cider vinegar and drink 1-2 tablespoons per day in a pint of water. This is proven to aid insulin sensitivity especially before a high-carb meal.

4. And finally – good old exercise. Nothing will help your body become more insulin sensitive than 3-4 sessions a week of weight training. Aim for 45-60 mins per session, go at a high pace, and work your butt off. Nothing else will come close to helping you lose body fat. Exercise and muscle building are the NUMBER 1 sure fire way to help you get lean and stay lean.
